CELL PHONE USE ON CANUTILLO MIDDLE SCHOOL STEAM ACADEMY CAMPUS

Per the District Handbook (page 45 of 98) "District permits for safety purposes, the students to possess personal mobile telephones; however these devices must remain turned off during the instructional day, including during all testing, unless they are being used for approved instructional purposes.  A student must have approval to posses other telecommunication devices such as netbooks, laptops, tablets, or other portable computers.... The use of mobile telephones or any device capable of caputring images is strictly prohibited in locker rooms or restroom areas while at school or at a school-related or school-sponsored event.  If the students uses a telecommunication device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated.  The parent may pick up the confiscated telecommunications device from the principal's office for a fee of $15.00."

At Canutillo Middle School STEAM Academy, students are not permitted to be on their cellphones between the hours of 8:10 AM to 3:40 PM.  Any time before or after those times is acceptable. 


STUDENT DROP-OFF / PICK-UP POLICIES AT CANUTILLO MIDDLE SCHOOL STEAM ACADEMY

Parents dropping students off in the morning.  We do not have personnel on duty to watch your child if you are dropping them off before 7:30 AM.  Please, do not drop off before that time.  

Also, please make sure that you have either picked up and found another way for your child to be picked up from the campus no later than 5:00 PM if student is not in an Athletics Program.  If they have not been picked up by that time, we will have them escorted home by the Sheriff's Department.
