About Us

The CMS Library is open from 
7:45 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday during the school year. 

Library cards are not issued to students. Students use their ID numbers to check out books, magazines & audiobooks. ID numbers are provided to students during registration via the District. 
Students are allowed to check out a total of three items. 


BritoMr. Brito
Librarian-Media Specialist

Mr. Brito is the CMS Librarian. He has been a librarian for 7 years at Canutillo Middle School. Before becoming a librarian, he taught French at Andress High School for 3 years. Mr. Brito is the sponsor for the CMS Library Book Club and promotes the Scholastic Book Fair every year.

Librarian Assistant

Ms. Gomez is the Library Assistant at Canutillo Middle School. She provides a valuable asset to the library, students, faculty and staff in assisting with available resources, as well as helping the librarian in various functions.

What can students check out at the library?

  • Students are allowed to check out a total of three items. 
  • Students can browse the internet, do school work, research, and read.
  • A late fee of $0.5 cents is charged for each item that is late after its due date. 
  • Community patrons usually parents of students, and faculty/staff can check out library items too.
